Upper School
In Upper School you will have opportunities to develop you career management and employability skills through the Work-Related Learning (WRL) curriculum. You will continue to learn about careers and the world of work through work-based learning opportunities, PSHE, Preparation for Adulthood (Work Skills) and further opportunities across the wider curriculum areas.
You will be supported to access the information needed to make informed choices about your future; this is delivered through the curriculum and through personal careers guidance sessions. You will be given frequent opportunities to explore what is available to you in the future and describe your own goals and aspirations.
By the end of Upper School, you will have:
- Developed an understanding of careers and employment though your WRL and PSHE curriculum. This will include learning from career and labour market information.
- Received impartial personal career guidance from a qualified careers advisor.
- Met with your link CSW Careers Development Consultant (Year 10 and 11)
- Taken part in an interview with the Work Experience (WEX) Coordinator to make choices about your work experience.
- Been on at least one work experience placement.
- Had several meaningful encounters with employers and employees (at least 5).
- Explored Post 16 pathways and visited Post 16 provision.
- Attended a mock interview with local employers.
- Had support to apply for college/work training schemes/apprenticeships.
- Attended at least one event that helps you to make decisions about the future.
- Received guidance and support to apply for college/ work training schemes/ apprenticeships.
- Had a Transitional Review updating your EHCP ready for Post 16.
By the end of Upper School, you will be able to:
- Communicate your personal qualities and skills to others.
- Recognise how your skills and qualities may be suited to different jobs.
- Understand which option choices will help you to reach your goals.
- Have an understanding of personal finances and money management.
- Know where to find information about courses and careers.
- Make informed decisions about what you want to do when you leave Lampard Community School.
- Be aware of the different pathways available to you at Post 16.
- Recognise how stereotypes can stop you getting jobs.
